Grief can feel like a bottomless pit of emotions

Clients often tell me that they are afraid to really express their grief for fear that they will drop into a bottomless pit and not be able to climb out.

This can leave the grief stuck in unexpressed sadness and afraid that life will always look black.

I believe that grief can be explored in 'manageable chunks' and worked through safely.  I've worked with people bereaved in the most traumatic circumstances and although they will never forget, they are able to continue living.

We don't 'move on' (I really dislike that expression because we don't leave our old loved ones behind), we create a 'new normal',  taking our precious memories with us.
